This weekend, The New Village Brewery & Taproom will host a tap takeover by Highland Brewing Company (Asheville, NC). Founded in 1994, Highland Brewing Co. was the 1st legal brewery in Asheville since Prohibition. It is also the largest family-owned brewery in the Southeast. Even cooler, is that the company’s President and Brewmaster are both women. So is the brewery’s “sensory scientist”!
We will have each of Highland’s year-round brews on tap, including the Gaelic Amber Ale, St. Terese’s Pale Ale, Highland IPA, Daycation IPA, Oatmeal Porter, Black Mocha Stout, Highland Pilsner and Mandarina IPA as well as the seasonal Clawhammer Oktoberfest Marzen.
Highland’s name honors the Scots-Irish who not only settled in the Appalachian Mountains in the 18th and 19th centuries, but who were also the early settlers of Pamlico County, after the Tuscarora War in 1711. Our own Village Brewer, Frank Bacon is a descendant of these early Scots-Irish settlers!
Our taproom opens at noon on Thurs, Fri & Sat and will remain open until around 10pm. RSVP for this event to stay current on news and updates about this event.
