When town founder Lew Midyette and his relative, Robert Midyette, split up the land, Robert got the riverside section know as ‘the farm’. The Honeymoon Cottage was the first home constructed in Robert’s section, so named because it was built for his son Arthur and bride Lula. They lived here until their permanent home, the ‘Windrift’, located next to the riverfront park, was finished.
