John Dixon built this home which sits on land with several other homes that belong to his descendants. He owned the entire peninsula on Camp Creek, which for many years had the only boat ramp in town. He served as postmaster in the 1920s and wrote many interesting stories about the town in his autobiography. Dr. and Mrs. Ed Benbow also lived here. Their daughter and Mr. Dixon’s grandson married and now own this property.
